Lecturer

Accountant

As an accountant you’ll get access to various positions. You can become a senior or junior accountant. As one of the careers that pay well you can also get in positions such as Assistant Financial Controller.

Procurement

This is not a famous profession among Kenyans, but it is among the best paying careers in Kenya. The job’s networth is between Kshs. 40,000 and Kshs. 200,000 per year. Even if the amount seems a little, the amount that one can receive in benefits can be 100 times higher. 

You have to enroll in a procurement school before starting off your career. You will be earning by pushing tenders that can reach upto half a million Kenyan shillings. Earnng this amount of money per month makes it one of the most lucrative careers.  

Engineering

There are various types of engineering. Mechanical engineering is one of the best engineering jobs. You can as much as Kshs. 100,000 with a diploma in mechanical engineering in Kenya. This is possible with the jobs from the government or other blue chip companies.

Different companies offer the best paying engineering jobs. If you are a mechanical engineer for example, you can get jobs in companies such as Davis and Shirtliff. 

Aircraft Pilot

There are a few pilots in Kenya. Being a pilot is one of the top-paying careers in Kenya. A pilot in Kenya gets paid on an hourly basis. The number of flights a pilot makes, determines the amount of salary they will receive. 

You need to take a piloting course before you start earning. This course takes three years and therefore this is not one of the easy high-paying jobs. You need to spend around Kshs. 5 million to study for the course. You’ll be earning between Kshs. 132,000 and Kshs. 420,000 per month. 

Actuary

In the finance sector, being an actuary is a big career. You have to start by getting a degree in actuarial science. It is one of the best jobs 2024 in Kenya as you can earn an average of Kshs.300,000 per month. 

After getting a degree in actuarial science, you’ll need extra certifications. A certification from the Society of Actuaries or Faculty of Actuaries will be of help. You’ll get this by passing 12 exams which is possible.  This makes it one of the difficult careers to study. After successful completion you can work in insurance companies and the Capital Market Authority.

Chief Financial Officers

Chief Financial Officers (CFO’s) make financial and project decisions for the organization. They are the primary spokesperson for the organization’s finances. The CFO has final say over the finance division. As one of the best careers if you become a Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you’ll be making an average of  Ksh. 5 million per year. 

Architecture

Accredited universities in Kenya provide a course in architecture. Kenya is still developing structures. Therefore, being an architecture is one of the best careers to pursue

Earning as an architecture depend on the scale of the project. You may design projects with starting income of Kshs. 50,000. It is one of the highest-paying jobs as the income is not fixed. If you have talent, you may design projects of income worth Kshs. 80,000 to Kshs. 285,000. 

Finance

Finance professionals have the highest-paying careers. This is in the public sector and the private sector. This is according to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS). A finance professional can earn as much as Kshs. 130,000 and above, depending on the place of work. 

Most companies need a finance professional. Multinationals and international NGOs use people in lucrative careers in finance.

Surgeon/ Medicine
